'By the way think the site is great and have been to quite a few auctions . I am making a nice little second income, but certainly not retiring, am going to take a week off work to check out the midweek sales to see if goods are any cheaper at these.

EBay chooses Jewelry Wizard for its jewelry auctions

The Internet auction Web portal eBay chose Jewelry Wizard for eBay as a way to ease the chore of selling jewelry on eBay. The software specializes in consignment sales on eBay for jewelry merchants.

Jewelry Wizard for eBay acts as a buffer between sellers and the eBay system. Sellers log into the Wizard Web site and fill out simple, yet intuitive forms that prompt them for all the information needed to properly describe their jewelry. The Jewelry Wizard then creates listings to launch eBay auctions, communicates with buyers, and arranges payment. The person listing the jewelry item doesn't need to know anything about eBay, the Boca Raton, Fla.-based company said in a statement.

Using proprietary technology managed by a team of expert eBay jewelry sellers, Jewelry Wizard for eBay can list dozens of items onto eBay in as little as a day after signing up.

There is no sign-up fee or ongoing contractual obligation to become a Jewelry Wizard client, and users can sell either under their own advertised brand name or anonymously.

Couple auctions vintage vehicle.

Mercedes' sale to help construction costs on memorial.

Lillian and Hubert Champion want desperately for construction of the proposed $28 million Pentagon Memorial to start. That's why the Pine Mountain couple is auctioning off their vintage Mercedes on eBay.

There are two reasons, really. Their only daughter, Marjorie Champion Salamone, was killed when terrorists crashed a hijacked airliner into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001.

"That's the major reason we want to participate in the fundraising," Lillian Champion said Tuesday.

And the second?

"We want to see it dedicated while we're still alive," she said laughing. She is 82; her husband turns 92 in August.

It's not that by selling off their '79 240-D Mercedes will go very far in satisfying the cost of the memorial.

"But hopefully we'll get a lot more money this way than we would sticking a 'For Sale' sign in the window," she said.
Whatever is bid, the Champions will send off to the memorial committee.
"And I really have no idea how much the car is worth," Lillian Champion said.

What she's really hoping for is that some soft-hearted bidder who learns of where the money will go will pad his or her checkbook.

She admits there are days when her's and her husband's grief are almost unbearable. "She moved into the newly renovated section only a few weeks before that horrible, horrible day," she said of Marjorie, who had served as a program/budget analyst for more than 10 years in various locations in the building.

The proposed memorial has been designed, a site selected, and officers and a board of directors named. Funds are being raised by families of the victims to finance the project which will honor the 125 who died in the Pentagon and the 59 on the plane who perished on impact.

Lillian Champion explained the history of the car. "It was purchased by my father in Columbus in 1979. He died from a heart attack a few weeks later on Sept. 26. He was 76 years old. My 75-year-old mother loved the car, drove it to church and around Pine Mountain. It had 23,000 miles on the odometer when she ran it into a tree. She had it completely restored but drove it very little before we hid her keys."

And then?

"I bought it from her in 1986 and we drove it on trips to San Antonio to visit Marjorie, Ben and their two daughters while they were at Fort Sam Houston. The car now has a total of 100,680 actual miles."

Ten days from now, the winning bid will be known.

The eventual buyer gets the car in "as is" condition and will have to be responsible for picking it up.

"We still have a problem accepting that our only daughter is dead," Lillian Champion said. "Working on this project, hopefully, is of some help. Marjorie and all the Pentagon victims need to be remembered for their sacrifice."

"The Pentagon Memorial is tremendously appreciative and thankful for Mrs. Champion's generosity and selfless act," said James J. Laychak, president and CEO of the Pentagon Memorial Fund. "All of those who lost loved ones that day appreciate her actions."

The construction cost of the Pentagon Memorial is estimated to be $18 million along with a lifetime endowment of $10 million for maintenance and care. The target for beginning construction of the memorial is fall 2006, with a completion date in 2008. The memorial will consist of 184 individual memorial units next to the Pentagon displaying the name of each victim.

Bidville repeats its baseball auctions.

The sponsorship program includes all Saturday night home games during which Bidville will host "Bidville.com Saturday Night Silent Auction."

The Bidville.com Web site will also feature the chance to win other Devil Rays items for auction including VIP field passes, ceremonial first pitch, bat boy/girl opportunities and other on and off-field game experiences hosted by the Devil Rays. All of these items will be available throughout the season, with proceeds going to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays' "Rays of Hope Foundation" charities.

This is the second consecutive year that Bidville has been a sponsor of the Devil Rays, a release said.

"This renewed sponsorship will directly complement Bidville's marketing and branding initiatives on a national as well as local basis, continuing to reinforce Bidville's position as a viable alternative to eBay in the online auction and fixed price marketplace," said Michael Palandro, president and CEO of Bidville, in a release.

The Positive Club

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your oldnonsense."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor souls who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." --Theodore Roosevelt

"Winning is not everything. It's the only thing."
